Cayde Accounting & Tax Free assessment

Pricing

Straight answers on price, before you book.

A catch-up is priced per year outstanding, so the exact figure comes after your free assessment, in writing. Here’s what to expect, and what moves the number.

What moves the price

Two catch-ups can look alike from the outside and be very different jobs. These five things make the difference:

  1. Periods outstandingHow many years of T2s, and how many GST/HST and payroll periods, need to be filed.
  2. Transaction volumeA holding company with a few entries a month is a different job from an operating business with hundreds.
  3. Number of accountsEvery bank account, credit card and loan has to be reconciled.
  4. Condition of the recordsClean statements and a working bookkeeping file go faster than a box of receipts.
  5. Type of workBookkeeping, T2s, GST/HST, payroll slips, CRA correspondence: whichever your file actually needs.

Pricing questions

Why isn’t there a fixed price for a catch-up?

Because the work depends on what’s outstanding and what shape the records are in. A fixed price would either overcharge simple files or underprice complex ones. Pricing is per year outstanding, typically $2,000 a year for an active corporation and from $750 for a year with no activity, and the assessment turns that into a real number for your file.

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. It’s 15 minutes with Brian, it costs nothing, and there’s no obligation to hire us afterwards.

Do I pay anything up front?

Only once you decide to go ahead. When you approve the written proposal, a 50% deposit starts the work. The proposal sets out when the balance is due.

Do the prices include tax?

No. Prices are before applicable taxes.

Can the price change once work starts?

Only if the scope changes materially, for example if more years turn out to be outstanding. If that happens, it’s discussed with you before any further work is done.

What does ongoing work cost after the catch-up?

Future year-ends and T2 returns, payroll and tax planning are quoted to your situation in writing. Ask about them on your assessment.
